January 05, Kathmandu. The Right Honourable Prime Minister and Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ has directed to revise the provisions in the application notice for the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor at Tribhuvan University.
Summoning the Honorable Minister for Education, Science and Technology and Pro-Chancellor of the University, Mr. Ashok Kumar Rai to his office in Singhadurbar on Friday, the Right Honorable Prime Minister instructed him to correct the advertisement notice and issue it again.
The Selection and Recommendation Committee, tasked with recommending appropriate candidates for the appointment to the post of the Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, has issued an application notice on Friday requiring candidates to submit a certified record of at least three years’ work experience as a university office bearer, detailed down to the year, month and day. Expressing his serious concern over such requirement, the Rt. Hon’ble Prime Minister instructed the Hon’ble Minister to re-publish the advertisement notice by removing that provision.
Stating his wish for an open competition to attract qualified individuals from around the world to improve the university, the Rt. Hon’ble Prime Minister instructed that the way be opened to competent and qualified candidates vying for the post of Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University.
